CUTTING BOARD

I don’t have any instructions about this project. I made this as a Christmas present for my wife, who does like to play the piano. The lighter wood is Maple. The darker wood is black walnut. The ends of the keys are the same walnut. The difference is that the ends of the keys are showing the end grain of the wood. The divider lines between the keys are a dyed black,  wood veneer. I found the instructions for making this in “WOOD” magazine, issue #243, December 2016

When looking at the right angle, you would swear that the dark keys are standing proud on the cutting board. But it is a completely flat surface. I enjoy seeing peoples reaction when they first see it.
