DEEP REACH CLAMPS

Occasionally it is handy to have some really deep reaching clamps. I’ve always managed to get the job done, all my life, without them. But I’ve spent so much time rigging up temporary methods over the years, that I figured it would make more sense to finally spend a little time making some clamps, that I would always have available, for when I wanted them.

I used 5/16th bolts for the pivot points. For the vertical boards, I drilled a hole every two inches, to make this clamp usable for any thickness.

At the clamping end of the top arm, I used a self-adhesive rubber pad, so that it would clamp easily without the top clamp arm needing to be parallel with the wood.

These clamps can hang up easily on a nail without taking up much room at all.
