When I bought my table saw, I ordered the 62” model, instead of the 82” model, because of the size of my workshop. I felt the 82” would cramp my space too much. However I’ve found that several times a year, I wish I had gotten the larger size. To compensate for this I made some extensions that get me by, when I need the extra length.

My saw has some ½” holes in the extension arms. I used these holes to bolt on some extra extensions. I epoxied carriage bolts on the wood extensions, to make it convenient for putting the arms on and off.

I put some self-adhesive sandpaper on the bottom of an auxiliary fence that I made. This helps keep the fence from sliding, when it is clamped to the extension arms. The white lip is for keeping the plywood from sagging, at the fence, when running it through the saw.

If I had to do it over again, I would buy the longer 82” model. My extensions do the job, but it takes extra time to set it up and to square and measure the cut. Then you have to take it back off again in order to use the regular fence again.
