LOG SLICE BANDSAW SLED

When cutting something round or curved on a bandsaw, the blade can catch the wood, and roll it down. Sometimes this causes the wood to twist and bend the blade. After ruining a bandsaw blade while trying to slice a roundish log, I realized I needed to make a sled, so this wouldn’t happen again. So I made a sled that would strap down a log anywhere from 4” diameter to 12”.

I notched the 2 x 3s for the belt to be able to slide under them. I attached a runner for the miter slot in the bandsaw table.

I drilled ¼” bolt holes in the base every inch, for adjusting for different size logs. This didn’t take long to build, and hopefully I won’t ruin any more expensive blades again.
