I made this for a Christmas gift for my neighbors.

The trick is finding the proper spacing for the pegs, that match the size of disc that you use. I did a lot of experimenting. I originally tried to use M&Ms to drop down, but I wasn’t happy with the results, no matter what spacing I tried.

I ended up cutting some ¼” thick disks from an 1 ¼” dowel. I used 7/8” finishing nails, spacing them at 1 ¾” apart left to right. The spacing up and down is 1 ½”. Draw out the nail pattern on a sheet of paper. Then using a scratch awl, make a small indent for each nail location.

I drilled a hole in a piece of hardwood, for a jig, to keep the height of the nails consistent at 3/8” when hammering them in.

At the bottom I cut slots for some Masonite dividers.

I put some white Masonite in between the dividers, so that we could write different things with a dry erase marker. This way kids could change up different statements to make if fun for themselves.
